About Us

One of Us, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides training for the proper administration of Naloxone to aid a person who has overdosed from use of an opioid, Naloxone kits and on-going education regarding the signs and symptoms of opioid misuse. We are 100% volunteer-based with no paid employees and all donations we receive go back to further our life saving mission.

Our Mission

Our mission at One of Us is sharing information on the opioid crisis and increasing public awareness of opioid use disorder. By teaching Naloxone administration, we are helping combat narcotic overdoses and giving people a chance to live.

WHO WE ARE

The entire board shares a vision to ensure that Naloxone and proper training for Naloxone delivery is extended to all persons that suffer from opioid dependence. Our priority is to deliver proper training and Naloxone kits to recovery communities in the Twin Cities area. Our primary recovery community clients are sober homes but we also serve other types of recovery communities, as requested.

Our board is comprised of individuals who have all been active in variety of ways in the recovery community, and maintain high regard and appreciation for the diversity of recovery community activities. Additionally, all of our board members have lost a loved one to a fatal opioid overdose, and we maintain hope that other individuals and families can avoid what we have experienced.

Our founder and chief executive officer is Jeremy Dudley, Ann Perry serves as secretary, Dean Johnson is our treasurer, Dr. Mark Mirick is our medical director and Sheilah Healow is a general board member. Paige Myhra continues as an honorary board member

Here's how we’re helping the sober and recovery communities.

NALOXONE  EDUCATION - MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL MN

One of Us Inc. trainers provide education regarding the proper use of naloxone. The education program has been developed by Dr. Mark Mirick and Jeremy Dudley. The naloxone education is on-going to all of clients.

NALOXONE DISTRIBUTION & TRAINING

One of Us, Inc. provides direct distribution of naloxone kits accompanied by education and training. Ideally, the naloxone training occurs on a monthly basis to all of our clients to ensure that all residents within a recovery community are trained to recognize when the administration of naloxone is necessary. Our number one goal of teaching proper naloxone administration is to save lives.

RECOVERY COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

One of Us, Inc. strongly believes that healthy recovery may be different for each individual that suffers with opioid dependence. Therefore, we strive to maintain many on-going connections within the diverse recovery community. Our on-going involvement is reflected in our education program to ensure that it is relevant for each recovery community.

Through our monthly staff and resident training, our volunteers come in regular contact with over 400 individuals within our recovery community in many different capacities. Everyone involved with One Of Us, Inc. from the board members, volunteers and partners are active members in the recovery community network.

The core of our training content was born directly from our individual personal experiences as people impacted by opioid addiction.

After moving out of the sober that I was in the training that you provided helped me to save another resident’s life in my new sober house.
